Frequently asked questions

Do I have to upload a floor plan to make an evacuation map?

No. You can draw an evacuation map completely from scratch. The built-in editor gives you a blank canvas where you sketch walls, rooms, doors, windows and stairs, then drop in exits, fire-safety equipment and evacuation arrows — no upload, no CAD file and no floor plan required.

Is drawing my own evacuation map free?

Yes. Drawing on the canvas and exporting a standard map are free. Create a free account to save your map and keep editing it later from any device. PNG and PDF export are free; SVG export is part of the premium plan.

Can I use the map builder without an account?

Yes. You can draw and export anonymously. When you save, we keep your work tied to your browser session, and the moment you create a free account (email magic link or Google) your map is automatically claimed to your account so nothing is lost.

What can I add to a map I draw from scratch?

Everything the generator supports: walls and partitions, doors, windows and stairs, room outlines and labels, EXIT signs, fire extinguishers, alarms, hoses, first-aid and AED stations, assembly points, hazard and prohibition signs, PPE markers, evacuation arrows and routes, free text and furniture — organized with layers.

Can I export the evacuation map I draw?

Yes. When you finish, click Save & Finalize to download a print-ready map as a PNG or PDF (SVG on premium). Print it and post it on walls and near exits to meet OSHA and NFPA posting expectations.
